Discord bots
Bots hosted must comply with Discord's Terms and policies. Do not store or process data through your bot in ways that violate Discord rules or applicable law.
How long we keep data
- Account data: kept while your account is active.

- Deletion requests: upon verified request, we remove account data/files unless minimal retention is required by law.
Your requests
Email monkeybyteshosting@gmail.com to request access, correction, or deletion. Include details to locate your account. We aim to respond within UK GDPR timeframes.
When we share data
- We do not sell or rent personal data.
- We share only when necessary to run the service, comply with law, or protect users and infrastructure.
- We follow UK sanctions and may restrict access from sanctioned countries/regions.
International transfers
Hosting is UK-based. If data is processed outside the UK/EEA, we will apply appropriate safeguards or rely on an adequacy mechanism where applicable.
UK sanctions compliance
- To comply with UK sanctions law, we block access to our service from certain countries and regions.
- Currently blocked: Russia, Belarus, North Korea, Iran, Syria, Myanmar, and Venezuela.
- Blocking is implemented at the network level based on IP address geolocation.
- This helps us meet our legal obligations and protects the integrity of the service.
Why we do this
UK law requires compliance with international sanctions regimes. Blocking access from sanctioned territories is a necessary measure to ensure we operate lawfully and protect both our users and infrastructure from potential sanctions-related risks.
What this means for us and you
We take sanctions compliance seriously because the consequences of non-compliance would be severe:
- We could face criminal prosecution under UK law, including unlimited fines and imprisonment for operators.
- The entire service could be shut down by UK authorities, affecting all users worldwide.
- Our hosting infrastructure could be seized or blocked, resulting in permanent data loss.
- We could be personally liable for facilitating prohibited activities, even unknowingly.
Protecting everyone
By enforcing these restrictions, we protect not just ourselves, but every user who relies on this service. One violation could end MonkeyBytes Hosting permanently. We believe transparency about these requirements is better than operating in a grey area and risking the service for everyone.
What you can do
- Access, correction, deletion, restriction, and portability where applicable.
- Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you are unsatisfied: https://ico.org.uk/.
